Discover L’Oasis du Sénégal, a new tourist site that boosts the appeal of Senegal as a destination.
Between sea and desert, the Senegal Oasis is a dream come true. Located 10km south of Lompoul, this exceptional 300-hectare site is unique in the land of Teranga.
It includes a new artificial dune, a 2,000m2 lake in the midst of an 8-hectare palm grove, with an opening onto the sea through a breakthrough in the filaos.
The wide range of activities on offer will help to preserve the hundred or so jobs linked to tourism in Lompoul, develop the range of jobs on offer for the benefit of the communities and extend the length of the stay.
GCO: Always go beyond what is expected.
Long before the mine arrived in the Louga region, Grande Côte Opérations, true to its principle of transforming impact into opportunity, imagined and financed this highly ambitious project.
Rather than limiting itself to financial compensation for tourism activities impacted by the mine, the company came up with a bold idea: to recreate the artificial desert of Lompoul, some ten kilometers to the south, with original facilities.
The aim of the “Oasis du Sénégal” project, carried out alongside technical partner Société d’Aménagement des Côtes et zones touristiques du Sénégal (SAPCO), is to maintain and develop the destination.
Soon, a new tourist attraction will reveal the region’s beauty to the world.
