Lompoul sur Mer, March 27, 2025
On Tuesday March 25, 2025, Eramet Grande Cote inaugurated the Lompoul sur Mer Community Information Office, in the presence of the Prefect of Kébémer, the Sub-Prefect of Ndande, the Mayors of the surrounding communes and their inhabitants, village chiefs and Imams.
The opening of this office confirms Eramet Grande Côte’s approach to openness and transparency with neighbouring communities. At this location, all citizens will be able to obtain information on subjects related to Eramet Grande Côte’s industrial and mining processes, impact management and environmental management plan. In addition to providing access to information, the office will offer other services, including complaint management and the facilitation of dialogue commissions already set up as part of Eramet Grande Côte’s community engagement plan.
General Manager Frédéric Zanklan reaffirmed the company’s commitment to strengthening dialogue with local residents, so as to be ever more attentive to their needs and work together to resolve every issue raised.
The village chief of Lompoul sur Mer, Mr. Lémou Sow, recalled that “at the start of the mine, dialogue was difficult, but since then, the company has kept all its promises and the results are there. We encourage you to continue along this path. The Prefect of the Kébémer department, Mr. Ousseynou Mbaye, welcomed the opening of this office and called on the population to make it their own “to find out more about Eramet Grande Côte, how it works, its compensation process and its social aspects. This space is also important as a claims management area.”
The opening of this office is an achievement in line with best practice, welcomed by all stakeholders.
