PRESS RELEASE

Eramet sponsors the African Corporate Social Commitment Summit

As a socially responsible and civic-minded company, Eramet strives to create a sustainable, responsible industry. Its social commitment is a major pillar of its corporate vision. Its comprehensive and inclusive CSR program is central to its activities and all of its development projects.

Accordingly, every year it assesses the progress of the thirteen goals in its 2023 CSR roadmap and publishes the results. This ambitious program, in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), revolves around three pillars: a commitment to its people, being a responsible economic actor, and making a positive contribution to the planet.

Eramet’s corporate mission statement, which lays out this vision, has been enshrined in the company’s bylaws and guides the day-to-day actions of all employees and stakeholders, in every country where we operate. Eramet aims to become a leader in the responsible transformation of the Earth’s mineral resources for the benefit of all.

Accordingly, the Group decided to share its experience at the African Corporate Social Commitment Summit on July 7 and 8, 2021, by discussing the social initiatives of its subsidiaries: Comilog and Setrag in Gabon, GCO in Senegal, as well as in Cameroon, where Eracam has begun mineral sand exploration activities.

“After taking over as CEO of Eramet, I wanted to make CSR the focus of our model, because I believe that without a strong social commitment, there can be no sustainable development. As a responsible economic actor vis-à-vis our host communities, we want to be a catalyst for local development, and we give ourselves the resources to achieve this.”
